A place of celebration
By Frances Rivera - Stanton
I hold Hyatt Hotel Canberra close to my heart as a milestone marker, celebrating some of life’s biggest occasions within its beautiful surrounds.
I migrated to Australia in 2001 and some of my first memories of life here in the Capital included attending a work Christmas party at the hotel. We enjoyed a long and lazy decadent lunch, that saw us spilling into the Rose Gardens and then later into Speaker’s Corner. We didn’t want the experience to end.
Luckily for me I went on to experience many more parties at Hyatt Hotel Canberra, including events with the public service, Big 4 accounting firms and the private sector - many of which were dress-up parties, including a masquerade party and a 1920s Gatsby theme.
I met friends at the Hyatt, went on dates and eventually I had my bridal shower and wedding night there too.
I celebrated my 30th birthday with friends and family in The Tea Lounge and a few years later held my daughter’s first birthday celebration at The Promenade Café.
Visits were never few and far between, with work conferences and countless High Teas with the girls.
Most recently, my husband and I brought our children back to the hotel for dinner and to recreate our wedding photo – plus two!
Thank you Hyatt Hotel Canberra for being such a generous host – letting us bask in your thoughtful luxury and helping create memories to cherish and share with loved ones.
Now it's your turn for a milestone, be sure to celebrate in grand style!
